Combining skin and barrel-fermented components, with wild yeasts adding 
yet another dimension, this wine is showing incredible black current intensity, 
aromatic spices and passion fruit. The underlying minerality adds depth to this 
beautifully expressive Sauvignon Blanc.

            [Notes4] => The Reserve white wine consists of only two old 500L barrels; a single barrel of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon respectively. Using the more sun-exposed Sauvignon fruit, this wine manages to create tension between power and elegance. An integrated, bright, medium-bodied wine with its generosity held in check by an elegant mineral structure. Awarded 91 points by Christian Eedes (www.winemag.co.za) the Reserve Sauvignon Blanc Semillon also received 4.5 Stars at the RisCura White Hot Wine Awards 2014.

punch downs until dry after which it was basket pressed and racked to new 
500L French oak. The other 50% was whole bunched pressed and fermented 
in older French oak. Both parcels were blended together after 6 months in 
oak and racked back to barrel for a further 10 months of maturation. 
Bottling took place in Dec 2020.

Apart from everything wine-related. making, judging on various panels or just straightforward drinking, I also make time to surf whenever I get the opportunity.  I feel that the ocean recharges me, and teaches one patience and respect for nature.
