            [Notes1] => A youthful punch of red fruits on the nose with a delightfully perfumed
touch and subtle hints of oak nuances and a delicious savouriness.
The bright fruit combines well with the crisp acidity and continues on
the harmonious and medium-weighted palate. A youthful and
delicious wine.
            [Notes2] =>
            [Notes3] =>
            [Notes4] => The Reserve white wine consists of only two old 500L barrels; a single barrel of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon respectively. Using the more sun-exposed Sauvignon fruit, this wine manages to create tension between power and elegance. An integrated, bright, medium-bodied wine with its generosity held in check by an elegant mineral structure. Awarded 91 points by Christian Eedes (www.winemag.co.za) the Reserve Sauvignon Blanc Semillon also received 4.5 Stars at the RisCura White Hot Wine Awards 2014.
            [MediaNotes] =>
            [ServingSuggestion] =>
            [WineMakingNotes] => Hand picked from 25-year-old dryland bush vines on Malmesbury shale,
heavy clay content, decomposed shale and decomposed granite soils.
Harvesting took place from the middle of February to the end of February.
70% destemmed, 30% whole bunch and naturally fermented in open top
fermenters. Malolactic fermentation took place after primary fermentation.
The wine was matured in a combination of Stainless steel and 5000L
French oak for approximately 10 months. No fining of the wine.

I then returned to home ground and joined the winemaking team at Klein Constantia. In 2004 I was offered the opportunity of starting Anwilka wines in conjunction with Klein Constantia role-players and Bordeaux winemakers. The four invaluable years at Anwilka and my international experience gave me the confidence to start my own brand, and in 2008 I went solo. Since the very first vintage my focus has always been on two very diverse wine regions, namely Elim and the Swartland.

I currently live in Kommetjie, a quaint village on the Southern Peninsula, and make my wines just down the road in Noordhoek. Apart from everything wine-related. making, judging on various panels or just straightforward drinking, I also make time to surf whenever I get the opportunity. I feel that the ocean recharges me, and teaches one patience and respect for nature.

About this product +

Producer >

Trizanne Barnard cut her teeth at the world-famous Klein Constantia winery.  But since 2008 she's been making her own path in the wine world with Trizanne Signature Wines. Focusing on the regions of Elim on the southernmost tip of the Western Cape and by contrast, the hot, dry climate of Swartland.

Winemaking >

Hand picked from 25-year-old dryland bush vines on Malmesbury shale, heavy clay content, decomposed shale and decomposed granite soils. Harvesting took place from the middle of February to the end of February. 70% destemmed, 30% whole bunch and naturally fermented in open top fermenters. Malolactic fermentation took place after primary fermentation. The wine was matured in a combination of Stainless steel and 5000L French oak for approximately 10 months. No fining of the wine.
