Corbières `Les Pipelettes`, Domaine Sainte-Marie des Crozes

Domaine Sainte Marie des Crozes
Product Code: MF06ZZRC

Tasting Notes

Beautiful ruby color, supported, with purplish reflections. The very intense and fresh nose is dominated by notes of small red fruits (raspberry) which are mixed with aromas of sweet spices and violet. The mouth is both lively and ample from the attack, and has a beautiful sweetness. The tannins, well present, but of a beautiful finesse make it a very gouleyant wine.

[Notes1] => "Nice deep red hue, with purple lights in it.
Clean and fine bouquet with all the nuances of fruit flavour (raspberry) and violet.
Lively and ample palate but also greedy. It is very fresh and onctuous in the mouth, this reveals sweetness is perfectly balanced by acidity."
[Notes2] => Domaine Sainte Marie des Crozes is located under the Montagne d`Alaric terroir, the northernmost terroir of the Corbières around the village of Douzens. The soils are made up of limestone folds in a succession of rocky bands and stony terraces with a clay topsoil. At the crossroads of Mediterranean and oceanic influences, the climate is sunny, dry and hot. The 38 hectares of vineyard are planted on the mountainside, on clay-limestone slopes surrounded by garrigue (scrubland). The farming is organic. Les Pipelettes comes from a blend of Cinsault (40%), Syrah (40%) and Grenache (20%).

estate lies at the foot of the Montagne d’Alaric in the northerly, cooler part of the Corbières. In 1997 the vineyards were completely
restructured by Christelle’s father, Bernard, and are now cultivated
organically. Christelle joined her father in 2012 after a tour of the
viticultural world and has clearly had fun creating her wines: there is a juicy vibrancy – she clearly aims for freshness and elegance over
extraction and power.

In the Alias ??family, being a winemaker is transmitted from generation to generation. This is how Jean, Hector and Hervé, son of the earth, devoted themselves to the vineyard by habit and inheritance as did all the Languedocites, while living from another activity.

In 1997, Bernard Alias, the current owner, inherited the property of Douzens. In an economic context of wine crisis, the challenge to be met was for him the detonator of his determination to rise to the rank of the best of his appellation and to be worthy of this earth inherited in terroir of Alaric.

The path was difficult. He surrounded himself with many tips before replanting and restructuring the vineyard. Many hectares have been replanted today offering a wide range of grape varieties.

In 2012, their youngest daughter Christelle, after a little tour of the winemaking world, made a place for herself among this tribe of winegrowers and proudly claims her position as the first woman vine grower of the family.

                    [Notes5] =>

In 2012, their youngest daughter Christelle, after a little tour of the winemaking world, made a place for herself among this tribe of winegrowers and proudly claims her position as the first woman vine grower of the family.

estate lies at the foot of the Montagne d’Alaric in the northerly, cooler part of the Corbières.

Clay Limestone

Winemaking >

This cuvée is specially cold vinified to develop the aromatic power of the three grape varieties and exhale their intense fruit flavors. Vinified at low temperature, the juice is separated from the skins and pulps at mid-fermentation to finish the fermentation in search of the fruit only.
