Viticulture >
This wine is a blend of fruit sourced from the Marsala area on the west coast of Sicily, and from high altitude hillside vineyards near Alcamo. The area around Marsala is influenced by the Mediterranean with hot, dry summers and moderately wet and mild winters. Alcamo is further to the north and lies under Mount Bonifato, a limestone mountain that peaks at 825 metres altitude. The climate here is milder with lower summer temperatures and higher rainfall.
Winemaking >
Produced from Garganega grapes grown around the Verona and Vicenza region, with the addition of 15% Pinot Grigio. Gentle pressing followed by fermentation at 16 to 18C, with selected yeasts. The wine spends 3 months on fine lees before bottling.
