Château Chasse-Spleen Cru Bourgeois, Moulis-en-Médoc

In the heart of the Moulis commune of the Médoc, Chasse Spleen`s vineyards are situated in the sector of Grand-Poujeaux, one of the three sub sections of the region. Along with Cap de Haut and Grannins, the soils of Grand-Poujeaux were created over millions of years as stones were moved from the Pyrenees and the Massif Central by the River Garonne. The land is made up of a layer of gravel over limestone and clay, forming a perfectly drained soil. The vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small amount of Petit Verdot and the planting density is 10,000 vines per hectare. They are managed according to the Haute Valeur Environnementale charter.
