Domaine Christophe & Yoann Perrin

Domaine Christophe & Yoann Perrin

We’re thrilled to introduce our new range of Jura wines from a 6ha domaine founded by Christophe Perrin in 1998. Domaine Perrin is a true hidden gem of the Jura region. It is based in the village of Vernantois close to Arlay and Lons Le Saunier on marl-limestone soils in Côte du Jura.   In 2022 his son Yoann joined and is now in charge of the vineyard and winemaking.

The objective is clear; rigorous work in the vineyard and as little intervention as possible in the winery. Yoann gained experience in Burgundy, spending time learning at Ramonet and Tollot-Beaut before returning to the family fold. The wines have gained in modernity, finesse, and elegance.

The style of the selection is very Burgundian while retaining the typicity of Jura wines.  There is an elegance and resounding completeness to them all, in part thanks to the impressive 60 year old vines. Climatically Jura has its problems to face, it is however an exciting time for this winery.

Côtes du Jura
FRANCE

The Domaine Christophe and Yoann Perrin was created in 1998, its current area is 7 hectares on marl-calcareous soils in Côtes du Jura appellation. All wines are vinified, aged and packaged at the Domaine.

They strive to obtain a product with the best possible quality/price ratio by adopting meticulous work both in the vineyard and in the cellar.

They conduct their estate in a reasoned way to respect and best preserve the terroir, all the vines are mechanically weeded and the treatment of the vine is limited to the maximum.

The vinification and aging of their wines is done authentically in order to obtain a faithful expression of the Jura terroir.

Viticulture

The red wines are aged in oak barrels from 9 to 12 months which gives the wines a better finesse and more subtle aromas. For white wine, the cellars must have good ventilation and correct humidity for quality aging. The duration of aging ranges from 18 months for Chardonnay up to 6 years and 3 months to minimum for Yellow Wine. For Vin de Paille: Once harvested, the grapes are placed in wooden crates and then placed in an aerated room where they will be dried for 4 months. Then, all the bunches are pressed, the juice is fermented in tanks and the wine is aged in oak barrels for at least 3 years.

Winemaking

Red wines are made with a fermental maceration of about 10 days. During this period, reassembly operations are carried out to obtain a smooth extraction of the polyphenols. To give wines with an intense color and notes of fresh fruit. The white wines strongly reflect the typical character of the Jura with a good power of aromas and a beautiful persistence in the mouth. The aging is done in oak barrels in the best cellars of the village conducive to the revelation of the typical aromas of the Jura. The grapes for Vin de Paille are selected in the best plots of the domain with optimal maturity, these grapes are from the Chardonnay, Savagnin and Poulsard grape varieties.
