Bodegas Pentecostés

Hidden in the Miñor Valley among lush Atlantic forests are the vineyards of Pentecostes. These are made up of 3 farms in the Miñor Valley, Pazo Barreiro being the focal point for the production. Steep, terraced slopes grow the native whites of Rias Baixas in the most natural way possible.

A project focused on restoration. The Pazo Barreiro estate is the result of a rebuilding of parcels of vineyards to resurrect the only DO Rias Baixas vineyard in the Miñor Valley region. Production is carried out with every effort to preserve the delicacy and expression of the vineyard. Lees ageing adds a further dimension to these excellent wines.

Viticulture

Pazo Barreiro – The VIneyard Located in Villaza, vineyard rounds the small hill O Barreiro, in the village of Gondomar. The Hill, divided in dozens of small plots from different owners, was bought, joined and planted for completeing the first and unique vineyard in the D.O. Rias baixas in this region. Orography has obligued to plant vineyard in terraces divided by traditional stone walls. An exceptional property, with an extremely poor granitic soil and a unique climate thanks to five different exposures and the North protection of the Monte Castelo.

Winemaking

Harvest Ripe Control individualised from each terrace and exposure. Harvested by hand in 15 kg plastic crates. No more than 3000Kg / day. Cold maceration for 12 hours at 10ºC in a walk-in freezer. Slow destemmed and light press. Gravity clearing for 48h. Ripe Control individualised from each terrace and exposure. Ellaboration: Temperature controlled fermentation at 14,5ºC. Ageing on fine lees for 6 months. Between 5% y 10% of our wines ages in barrels for 6 month.
